Our Values
Operating Principles & Corporate Conduct
Statement of Principles
Terranova Chem operates an intellectual property model rather than a product model. That single fact shapes how we behave: our output is documentation, and documentation is only valuable if it is accurate, traceable, and properly protected. The principles set out below describe the standards we hold ourselves to in research, in internal production, and in our dealings with suppliers, institutions, and prospective licensees.
Integrity in Documentation
A patent is only as strong as the record behind it. Every experiment, deviation, and negative result is recorded contemporaneously and retained, so that any claim we assert can be traced back to primary data rather than recollection.
Scientific Rigour
Novelty claims are tested before they are filed, not after. Routes are reproduced independently in-house and assessed against the prior art before they enter the drafting stage.
Responsible Custody of Materials
Material handled on our premises exists for research, methodology development, and internal analysis. Nothing is held for sale, sample, or distribution, and custody records are maintained accordingly.
Confidentiality by Default
Unpublished technical content is treated as restricted until a filing position is secured. Disclosure is a deliberate decision taken jointly by the research and IP functions, never an incidental one.
Continuous Methodology Improvement
We regard an existing production method as a working hypothesis rather than a settled answer. Repeat processes are periodically re-examined for yield, safety, and operational simplicity.
Regulatory & Export Awareness
Applicable regulatory, safety, and export-control frameworks are considered at the outset of a programme rather than treated as a closing formality, and counterparties are assessed on the same basis.
Long-Term Partnership
Licensing works best where both sides intend to be present for the full term. We favour durable arrangements with clearly allocated rights over opportunistic single transactions.
People and Training
Technical judgement is developed, not hired ready-made. Internal production and analytical work serve as a structured training environment in which staff build competence under supervision.
Transparency With Counterparties
We state plainly what we do and do not do. Enquiries that fall outside our scope receive a clear answer rather than an encouraging one.
Environmental Responsibility
Route design considers solvent selection, atom economy, and waste burden alongside yield. A process that cannot be operated responsibly at scale is not a process we would seek to license.
Conduct in Practice
Standing Commitments
- We do not sell, supply, distribute, or sample physical chemical substances, and we do not accept product orders.
- Production is carried out internally only — for staff training, production methodology research, and routine repeat of certain processes for internal analysis.
- Raw material suppliers, equipment vendors, and analytical service providers are welcome to make contact; buyers of finished chemical products cannot be served.
- Technical dossiers are released only to verified corporate and institutional counterparties, under written agreement and subject to export-control assessment.
