How We Structure Claims
Three Claim Categories
A patent family is constructed across three complementary claim categories so that protection survives both alternative manufacturing routes and downstream reformulation.
- Composition of matter — the novel molecule or defined class of molecules, including salts, solvates, and polymorphic forms.
- Process — the synthetic pathway, catalyst system, and operating window required to obtain the claimed material at specified purity.
- Use — the industrial application in which the claimed material or process delivers measurable advantage.
Technical Dossier
Released Under Agreement Only
Each licensed family is accompanied by a dossier containing:
Full synthetic route with stoichiometry and operating windows
NMR, LC-MS, IR and elemental analysis reference spectra
Purity validation methodology and orthogonal assay design
Impurity profile with identified and characterised side products
Thermal and stability data relevant to handling and storage
Prosecution history and jurisdictional claim scope summary
Exclusive Field-Of-Use
Licensing Model
Sole rights within a defined application field and territory, with agreed development milestones and annual maintenance.
Non-Exclusive
Licensing Model
Parallel rights to practise a protected route, priced per unit of licensed output with a minimum annual commitment.
Co-Development
Licensing Model
Joint programmes where Terranova Chem contributes route design and the partner contributes scale-up capability; IP allocated at signature.
Assignment
Licensing Model
Outright transfer of a granted family, including prosecution history and the complete technical dossier.
Counterparty Verification
Mandatory Pre-Disclosure Step
Dossiers and unpublished claim detail are disclosed only after corporate verification: registry confirmation of the requesting entity, identification of the responsible technical officer, a signed confidentiality agreement, and an export-control assessment of the intended jurisdiction. Requests from individuals, unregistered entities, or parties seeking physical material are declined without further correspondence.
